Decorative Tile Doorbells, part 2

My post on decorative tile doorbells on Cliff May houses is one of the most popular, so I thought I’d add a small gallery of images that I’ve collected over the years.  These doorbells are one of the primary ways to identify a 1930s house by Cliff May, although of course, it’s not a guarantee (the doorbell could have been removed over time and someone seems to be making similar doorbells today, but using different colors in the cuerda seca technique).    They appear to originally have had a colored glass hemispherical button but most have been replaced with the common round flat white plastic button.  I still don’t know who created these doorbells, so if anyone can help, let us know with a comment below.
